Are you interested in water management? We invite you to get to know the work of Water Authority Noorderzijlvest. Every day we work on living safely with water, clean and healthy water, threated water and sufficient water in every season. Our country lies below sea level and is vulnerable to flooding. Enormous efforts have to be made to keep our region (North and West Groningen, Northwest Drenthe and the Friesland part of the Lauwersmeer) a safe place to live in and to ensure that there is sufficient clean water. With the recent challenges of climate change, water management is more necessary than ever before. This involves building and maintaining dykes, dredging and wastewater treatment. But the work also entails flood protection and regulating water levels, water quality management and preventing droughts or water surpluses.
